The English League One promotion playoffs continue with the second leg of the semifinals between Charlton Athletic and Swindon Town. The match will take place at the Valley in London, England on Monday, May 17, 2010. Kickoff is scheduled for 19:45 GMT (local time in England) and 14:45 EST.

Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Preview

Swindon has a 2-1 lead from the first leg but now it heads to The Valley for the second leg. Charlton had a 14-6-3 record at home while Swindon was 9-8-6 in away matches. The two teams played to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season at The Valley.

Charlton will need a two goal margin to advance as a tied score on aggregate would require extra time and possibly penalties. Both teams have shown they are very even and it’s likely to be a one goal match. Swindon were not one of the top defensive sides and were prone to concede goals in away matches.

This should result in a Charlton victory but probably only be a goal which would require extra time.In extra time anything can happen but its a decent chance it will go down to penalty kicks. If that happens, the home team will have the advantage.
